13 ARTISTS WIN AWARDS AT CITYART SHOW

TORONTO - Wed. Oct. 27 at 5 PM, show organizer Pat Fleisher, publisher CITYART MAGAZINE, presented 13 awards to artists at the lst CITYART Fall Artists’ Show @ Metro Hall Rotunda (55 John Street at King Street West) in Toronto. Carla Drmay & Meghan Brazil, representives of Curry's Art Supplies, assisted with the presentation, which was followed by a lively Jazz performance by the IAN LAZARUS TRIO.

The art awards were juried on site by three Toronto art dealers:
Jim Dollery, Director STIMULEYE GALLERY (King/ Sherbourne Art area), Kate Somerville, Director TURQUOISE & CARBON GALLERY (Morrow Street Art Complex) and Saul Lederman, Director PIKTO GALLERY (Distillery Art Area).

The prizewinners were as follows:

Best in Show:
GIAMPIETRO FILIPPETTI, glass mosaic wallart, Woolfitts Art Supplies Gift Certificate $200, plus CITYART artbook.

1st in Oils:
DRAGAN SEKARIC SHEX, Curry's Art Supplies Gift Certificate $100,
plus CITYART artbook.

2nd in Oils:
JENNIFER LAWTON, Stevensons Paints Gift certificate $100,
plus CITYART artbook.

1st in Mixed Media:
JUSTYNA DUNAL, Curry's Art Supplies Gift Certificate $100,

CITYART SHOW AT METRO HALL FEATURES ART & JAZZ

TORONTO - CITYART MAGAZINE (formerly ARTFOCUS) is pleased to present the work of 20 talented artists to the public @ the lst CITYART Fall Artists’ Show @ Metro Hall Rotunda (55 John Street at King Street West) in Toronto, for four days, October 26, 27, 28, 29, 2004.

Exhibitors have once again been "scouted" by CITYART Publisher/ Photoartist Pat Fleisher from the many popular summer "outdoor" shows around Toronto for this fall "indoor" show & sale of original art. As in previous years, the show includes a wide spectrum of artists originating from the many countries who contribute to the unique multicultural mix of Canada’s burgeoning art scene. The artists will be juried for awards by
Jim Dollery, Director STIMULEYE GALLERY (at Sherbourne & King) , Kate Somerville, Director TURQUOISE & CARBON GALLERY (in the Morrow Avenue art complex), and Saul Lederman, Director PIKTO GALLERY (in the Distillery Art District).

New exhibitors include Lisa ADAMS (Photography), Homer CALIWAG (Photography), Stephen CORNER (Ceramic Sculpture), Giampietro FILIPPETTI (Glass Mosaic Wallart), Neema LAKIN-DAINOW (Painting), Justyna DUNAL (Mixed Media), Frankie IP (Mixed Media), Jennifer LAWTON (Painting), Anita NIEMEYER (Oils), Jangmee PARK (Mixed Media), Dale M. REID (Photography), Ursula TWEDDLE (Photography) and Kathleen WEICH (Acrylic Painting).

Guest feature in the centre of the Rotunda will be an organic metal sculpture installation by Russian-born artist,
Marina RESHETNIKOVA, courtesy GALLERY BIBIANNE (on King Street East).

The show will be open daily Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday with artists in attendance to meet the public from 10 am. to 5 pm. Admission to the public is FREE.

Awards will be presented Wed. Oct.27 from 5-7 pm with a Jazz performance by the Ian Lazarus Trio. (Sculptor/musician Lazarus is represented by DELEON WHITE GALLERY in the Queen Street West Art District).

A percentage of art sales @ the CITYART show will be donated to THE MAKE -A -WISH FOUNDATION of Canada.
